Rancho Capomo is located in a small town called Las Palmas, Jalisco.
Las Palmas is located about a thirty minute drive from Puerto Vallarta. The Ranch is located in the Sierra Madre mountain range, right next to a beautiful clear water river. This Ranch has great service, not to mention that it is the tour you have to take if you like horses. The horses are very well trained, cared for, and there are different types of horses for each rider. This is not a simple five minute ride, this is a real ride through the semi tropical jungle. I guarantee it, you will be sore afterwards. Its almost like a good night out, if you have a hang over its because it was a good night out.
Ride up the beautiful freshwater river bed. There is a limit of where the horses can go, so you will have to leave the horses behind and hike up the river bed about ten minutes. You will have to cross hanging bridges.
Once you get to the water fall, which of course in the pictures you can tell how high it is, you will have some time to refresh yourself in the cool water. The water is very clean, you can see the bottom of the river at all times. These pictures were taken in the dry season, just imagine what its like in the rainy season, more greenery and of course the waterfall gets really really big. After the waterfall you will ride uphill, downhill, and this is where a little bit more trotting is involved. Nobody gallops their horse, it is not permitted for safety reasons, but believe me you will have more than enough with the trotting.
The ranch provides transportation, continental breakfast. Hand made corn tortillas with beans, eggs, salsa and your pick of refreshments. Cafe de la Holla is coffee made in a clay pot, with cinnamon and chocolate. For lunch, Fajitas, with a Sope, which is basically a really thick hand made corn tortilla with beans and chesse, rice and beans. This is the tour that you will never forget about. Make sure to bring a little bit of cash for souvenirs (Tequila), picture, and tips. Hiking shoes, bathing suit, towels, sunblock, insect repellent and a great attitude.
